Betty Jane Spainhower

Betty passed away peacefully on September 25, 2019. She was born October 22, 1925 to Pedro Lopez and Irene Shaw in Portland, OR. Betty was raised by Mary Baker. She was married to Jim Spainhower for 45 years. Betty was an excellent cook and a friend to all. She loved to entertain, garden, make homemade cards, sew, and volunteer at her church. Betty enjoyed playing golf a member of The Niners in Gresham. She also enjoyed travel, with memorable trips to Maine, Japan, China, and Korea. Betty is lovingly survived by her husband Jim Spainhower; her son Pat (Opal) McBurney; daughters Kirsten Spainhower and Karla (Barry) Bakos; granddaughter Michelle (Mark) Culley; grandsons Kasdan Bakos, Sebastian Bakos, and John McBurney; and nine great grandchildren. Betty was predeceased by her parents and her brother Al. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, October 7, 2019, at Cherry Park United Methodist Church, 1736 SE 106
