Obituary of Gene Otto Tietz
Gene O. Tietz, 81, of Keizer, Or., passed away at his home on September 26, 2019.
He was born May 26, 1938 in Missoula, Montana to Otto Tietz and Erna Tietz (Madsen).
After graduation from High School and attending the U of Mont for a short time he worked for Montgomery Ward Co. in Missoula as a sales associate and transferred to the Corvallis, Ore. store in 1960 where he met his wife. They moved back to Missoula, Mt. in 1963 where he worked for the Missoulian Newspaper as a type setter and also worked with his father in home construction for a time before being certified a a building inspector and returning to Oregon to take a position with the City of Beaverton, OR until he retired in 2003.
Among his many pleasures, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing golf.
He is survived by his wife Angela, son Mark (Dawn) of Rowlett TX., daughter Theresa Markham of Albany, OR., three grandchildren, Alex Markham, Jessica Tietz and Sarah Tietz. Sister Beverly Wood-Back of Arizona, and brother Arlyn Tietz of Spokane, WA., plus numerous cousins in Montana.
A private remembrance gathering will be held at his home, Saturday, October 5th.
