This is Lloyd Ethridge one of Shirley's daughters friend Lea. I met Shirley about nineteen years ago and over the years I got to know her pretty well. I have been to her home were we have enjoyed holidays with Lea and her mom. On a few occasions she invited me to the tennis court at their home. Where she politely and I do mean politely beat me at tennis when she could have did a much better job at it then she did. Having gently put me in my place she is a good tennis player I thought I was but I'm not so good. I will surely miss her for she was a good part of my life the last 19 years. My son Michael Ethridge also sends his love he met her when he was a young boy at one of her holiday functions. While we enjoyed a very delicious meal she will always be in my heart

Shirley, Ernie, Lea and Tracey opened their home to me as a teenager. Shirley taught me to sew and encouraged me to play tennis. I still do both, nearly 50 years later. I think of all of her family nearly daily, with gratitude.

Years ago Shirley entered a junior-adult tennis tournament just so that a youngster whose parents didn't play could participate. Not even wanting to enter with my own children, I was amazed that she would join forces with a teenager she didn't even know. That's the kind of person she was. She will be missed.

Shirley was my dear Aunt and a very favorite person in my life. I remember her wonderful laugh, her generous spirit and her fierce love of family. So thankful for the time she was able to share with Dale. They were a team. She and Uncle Bud left a lasting legacy in their daughters and many grand children ... al bound tightly in love.

I light a candle for my mother because she really was wonderful. You try to do the very best that you can in your life, that was certainly true with her. I know that she in HEAVEN with her dad, her mom and her first husband Ernie. I know that there are many other relatives and friends that she is also enjoying seeing. I'm excited that one day I'll get to see them all too. I'm grateful to have had her in my life. Thank. You, LOVE YOU MOM
