Obituary of Beverly Ann Caris
Beverly (Bev) Caris, née Johansen, passed away on September 12, 2019.
She was born and raised in Chicago, IL and died near Portland, OR.She married Jerry Caris on December 3, 1967.They lived in Burbank IL for 23 years, Lake Havasu City AZ for 18 years, and recently moved to Portland, OR.
Her lifelong interests included camping, boating, traveling, playing pinochle and bingo, bowling, and cheering on the Chicago Cubs.After moving to Lake Havasu City, her new friends introduced her to quilting, line dancing, and Texas Hold-Em. Her biggest joy in life was being called “Manama” by her grandchildren.
Bev is survived by her husband of 51 years; daughter Dawn Caris Strzechowski (Tim); daughter Joy Caris Heredos (Doug); daughter Kathleen Caris Eberling (Jamie); and grandchildren Matthew Strzechowski, Kaitlyn Caris, Dylan Strzechowski, and Michael Heredos.
Bev is pre-deceased by her parents Tunis (aka Tony) Johansen and Catherine (née Hiemstra) Johansen; and her siblings Joyce, Marvin & Lois.
An open house Celebration of Life will be held from 1pm to 5pm, September 22, 2019 at Carlo’s located at 560 W Lincoln Hwy (Route 30), Chicago Heights, IL.
