Obituary of Timothy Dwayne Visser
Timothy Dwayne Visser left this earthy realm to enter his eternal heavenly home on August 27, 2019, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Tim was born at the Deaconess Hospital in Wenatchee, Washington on July 29, 1966 to Dwayne B. and Stella H. (Suksdorf) Visser. He attended East Wenatchee schools and graduated from Eastmont High School in 1983.
Early in life, Tim developed a love of all sports and participated in many including baseball, soccer, and track and field. He competed in Korea at an International Sports Exchange after he graduated from high school. He attended Concordia University in Nebraska where he also ran track.
Tim continued his to pursue sports interests throughout his life including soccer and coaching, as well as hunting, fishing, landscaping, gardening, computer games, pinochle and country dancing.
Tim worked as a certified nursing assistant at Colonial Vista in Wenatchee for a time. He then went on to be a phlebotomist at Wenatchee Valley Medical Center, eventually advancing to a histology technician in the laboratory.
In 1996, Tim married Katie Travis. Together they had two children, Elizabeth and Ethan. Tim instilled the love of the outdoors and sports in them and always supported them in their endeavors whether it was hunting, softball, soccer, wrestling, or raising animals for FFA.
In 2011, Tim moved to Oregon where he was an in-home care giver. He met Shauna Piper of Oregon City and here they built a life together.
Tim is survived by his daughter Elizabeth (Cody) Martin of San Diego, CA; son Ethan Visser of Cashmere, WA; parents Dwayne and Stella of East Wenatchee, WA; brother Paul (Diana) of Sherwood, OR; brother John (Kristi) of East Wenatchee, WA; sister Rachel (Dennis) Lotts of East Wenatchee, WA; and Shauna Piper and her daughters Kristy (and her son Phenex) and Ashley of Oregon City, OR; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family wishes to express a sincere thank you to Tim’s care team of Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland for their excellent care and loving kindness.
Celebrations of Life will be held Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 2:30pm at Hilltop Community Church in Oregon City, OR and Friday, October 04, 2019 at 3pm at Tillicum Riders Clubhouse, Chelan County Fairgrounds in Cashmere, WA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
