Obituary of Ronald Dion Rector

Ronald Dion Rector was born in Rock Springs WY, to Cleo and Marguerite Rector. He grew up in Sweet Home, OR and graduated from Sweet Home Union High in 1959. At 17 he met his high-school sweetheart, Barbara Jo Brakebill ( aka Forsberg) and they were married July 9, 1960. He worked in lumber mills in Foster OR and Redmond OR before he moved to Salem, OR where he became a welder. He retired from Linn-Benton CC as an assistant welding instructor. Ron was a dedicated sportsman all his life. He loved to hunt and fish and loved Labrador Retrievers. Ron is survived by his wife Barbara Jo Rector; daughters Robin Rector and Darcy Halter; grandsons: Guy Fidler and Jacob Halter; great-grandchildren Harmony Fidler, and Guy Fidler Jr.; siblings Verla Langmack and Dennis Rector, as well as an aunt, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, his older sister, Carrol Lee Snook, and granddaughter Lindsay Harold. He was diagnosed with AML (leukemia) on June 1, 2019. On August 29, 2019 he left his home of 48 years in Salem and went to be with his beloved Jesus. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family who look forward to seeing him again.
