Obituary of Owen Earl Graham
Owen Earl Graham passed away August 27, 2019 at the age of 88; 4 days short of his 89th birthday, in Oregon City, OR.
Owen was born on September 1, 1930 in Portland, Oregon to parents Abraham Thomas Graham and Lillian Reed Graham.Owen graduated from Roosevelt High School.
In 1952 he went to work as a lab analyst for Reynolds Metal Company in Troutdale, Oregon. He retired from Alcoa/Reynolds Metal in Troutdale in 1986. He and his wife, Elsie, traveled the U.S. in their motor home for 30 years before retiring to Oregon City.Owen enjoyed the warm weather and spent the winters across the Southeast in Yuma, Arizona. They were also campground hosts for Bureau of Land Management out of Burns, Oregon and other locations.
Owen spent 1 term as a city council member in Wood Village, Oregon and helped get the city park established. He was also a Scout Master in Fairview, Oregon and loved to camp, hike, fish and hunt.
Owen is survived by his wife of 69 years (just 14 days short of their 69th anniversary), Elsie Spofford Graham: children: Eugene, Elaine and Terry; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his children Sandra and Rodney.
A celebration of life is planned for November 2, 2019 at 11:00am at Oregon City Christian Church, which is located at 1179 South End Road, Oregon City, OR 97045.
