Obituary of Lorraine E. Roland
Lorraine Ethel Hegewald was born June 24, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois to Gerhard & Katherine Hegewald. As a young child her family moved to Vancouver Washington driving cross country in a Model A Ford. Lorraine was the oldest of 6 children and graduated from Vancouver High school. She married Leonard H. Roland in 1952 and moved across the river to Portland to start her new life and a family.
She is survived by her two brothers Robert Hegewald & Kenneth Hegewald and her 4 children: Jori Sullivan, Eric Roland, Lisa Van Helsland & Mark Roland. She was the proud grandmother of 7 grandchildren and one great grandson.
After raising her 4 children Lorraine helped in the family business and then started her own career in Real Estate which she did until her retirement.
She loved to meet and socialize with new people and always had a ready smile for her friends and loved ones. Her passion was cooking and her family.
She will be greatly missed.
