Obituary of Terrance Marcio Lee
Terry passed away Sunday afternoon, August 4, 2019, in the presence of his sons in McMinnville, Oregon. He was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Genevieve (Marcio) and Raymond Lee and grew up there, one of five brothers and sisters. He served in the U.S. Army in Europe in the late 1950s and after his honorable discharge, he moved to Southern California. He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad and attended Cal State University, Northridge where he received a bachelor’s degree of science in Geography.
Terry worked for many years as a bartender. He loved to tell stories of meeting (and drinking with) celebrities at The Carriage Inn in North Hollywood. Terry also worked for 25 years as a real estate agent in Southern California, eventually owning a real restate office in Simi Valley, California.
Terry lived for many years in the Santa Clarita Valley, but also in San Diego, Morongo Valley, Hawaii and most recently Oregon. He made friends everywhere he went. Terry loved being near the ocean, outdoor adventure (hang gliding, skydiving (once!), and bungee jumping), golf, country music, talking real estate, and visiting his brother Dennis and family back home in Minnesota and his sister Patty and family in Central California.
While working at Union Pacific, he met Veronica Lockitt. They married in 1964 and raised their family in the Santa Clarita Valley. Although they were divorced, Terry and Veronica remained good friends until her passing.
Terry is survived by his three sons and daughters-in-law Steven and Shannon Lee of Sacramento, California, Adam and Sarah Lee of Spring, Texas, and Ryan and Sharon Lee of Portland, Oregon. He is survived by five grandchildren – Owen, Justin, Maya, Sawyer and Cooper. In addition, he is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Diane Lee of Andover, Minnesota; and his sister and brother-in-law, Patty and Chas Groves of Cambria, California; brother Chris Fjeld of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Alan Lee.
Although dementia was not always kind to him in his later years, his quick wit and outgoing personality was still there until the end. He will be missed greatly.
Terry will be cremated and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date in Southern California.
