Obituary of Arlene Delores Friedman
Arlene left us on June 16, 2019 at the age of 87 to join her family in heaven. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Arlene was born on September 1, 1931 in Portland,Oregon, the daughter of Margaret and john Davidson. She attended Lents grade school and Franklin High school in Portland.
During a brief marriage Arlene had two children, daughter Connie Strutz and son Michael Strutz.
She married Donald Friedman in 1953. They had two sons, Donald and James Friedman.
Arlene was room mother, also room mother chairman. She helped in many field trips when her children were in school. She was the score keeper for her sons little league baseball team.
Arlene was a bookkeeper all her life, working for American Guarantee Life Insurance, Roderick Enterprises, Pinkerton Co., National Mortgage and retired from Albertsons Inc.
Her hobbies were bowling, playing golf, dancing, roller skating, going to movies and plays.
She loved to travel and was ready to go at the drop of a hat. She traveled to Asia, Egypt, England, Greece, Spain, France, Germany and Italy.
After her retirement she volunteered for Kaiser hospital then became a state ombudsman. She enjoyed playing bridge and earned her life master. She also enjoyed cruising around the world, going to the beach and gambling at casinos.
Arlene is survived by her children: Connie Friedman-May (Steve); Donald Friedman and James Friedman (Ava). Her sisters Joan Moore and Cathy Jo Hendrix; Grandchildren: Micheal, Ninette, Miki and Tami Strutz, Yuko Johnson, Laurie, Ashley, and Aaron Friedman. Eight great grandchildren, several nephews and nieces and long time friends.
She lost her son Michael Strutz on march 7, 2009.
There will not be a service according to Ms. Friedmans wishes.
