Obituary of Robert C. Hornburg
Robert C. “Bob” Hornburg, 90, died peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones. He was born December 8,1928 in Chicago, Illinois to Russell and Pearl (Kohn) Hornburg. He graduated from Lane Technical High School in 1947. In 1952 he married Margaret Maher. They had four children: Matthew McDowell, Val (Bill Zuelke); Melanie Corson (John); and Peter. In 1977 Margaret and Bob divorced.
In 1979 Bob married Joan Miller. In October they would have been married 40 years. He worked in the insurance industry in Chicago and Portland and had one of the first Christmas tree farms on Borland Road known for its' red caboose.
He is also survived by his stepson Eric Myers (Rebecca) and grandchildren Alex, Noelle, Susan, Isa, Kali, and Ani. A memorial will be held on July 9th at 3pm at Rose City Park Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Housecall Providers Hospice.
