Obituary of Richard Jon Ashenfelter
Richard Jon Ashenfelter was born on June 1, 1947 in Coquille, Oregon to Doris Ida Read (Ashenfelter Fults) and Gordon Charles Ashenfelter. He passed away Sunday, June 23, 2019, in Portland, Oregon and was received into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He is survived by his children, Gina Dean (James), Shelley Reimer (Brian), Jeff Ashenfelter (Erin), Eric Barber (Kari), and 9 grandchildren, as well as his fiancee’ Portia LeBleu, his former wife Linda Duarte (Ogle), and his siblings Phyllis Grant, Suzann Douglass, Judy Whitney, Bob Fults, Carl Jeffrey and David Jeffrey. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his brother Charles Ashenfelter and his sister Alice Cummins. A private family event will take place in July. No further memorial service is planned. If you’d like to send flowers, the family invites you to do so, but send them instead to your wife or daughter, or take your kids out for Saturday morning donuts or to the movies. In doing so, you will bring great honor to his memory.
