Obituary of Christopher Allen Bowers

Christopher "Shaggy" Bowers, 44, passed away early on the morning of June 17 after battling Myxoid Liposarcoma. He was surrounded by his friends and family in his room at the Salem Hospital. Chris was born in St. Croix, Wisconsin to Jeff Bowers and Debbie (Hall) Anderson. He graduated from Blaine High School in 1994. Shortly after graduating, he moved to Oregon where he met Carmen Johnson. They married in 2001. Chris enjoyed watching football and cheering for the Minnesota Vikings. He also enjoyed listening to a wide variety of music from Rap to Pantera and even listening to the Grateful Dead with his son Jesse. Ever the hard worker, Chris always enjoyed detailing cars in his free time from work. Most of all he enjoyed the time he spent with his friends and family. Chris was preceded in death by his brother Jason Moore. Chris is survived by his wife Carmen, father Jeff (Joan) Bowers, mother Debbie (Glenn) Anderson, brother Eric Bowers, his stepsisters Stephanie (Jim) Dahlin and Jennifer (Dean) Saunders, his children Hannah Bowers, Derek and Jesse Johnson, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Chris touched many lives and will be remembered and greatly missed by everyone that knew him. Tributes can be made at Crown Memorial Salem. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Oregon Gardens on July 14th at 1:00 pm. A Memorial fund has been set up at Bank of America, under Carmen Bowers.
