Obituary of Marguerite Ann Kame
A memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 20th, from 11am-2pm at Christ the
King Catholic Church on Fuller Road in Milwaukie for Marguerite A. Kame who passed
away after a 3 year battle with breast cancer, on May 30th at the age of 83.
Mrs. Kame, who went by the name Margie, was born Marguerite Ann Nordstrom in
Portland, Oregon on July 13th, 1935 and graduated from Girls Polytechnic High School.
One of her first jobs out of high school was as an elevator operator for Charles F. Berg
in downtown Portland. Later in her life she was a desk clerk at the Flamingo Motel on
Sandy Blvd. Another job she had was working at Nabisco as a packer. That’s where she
met Jim Kame, and they were eventually married in 1958. She was a devoted Wife,
Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She always enjoyed seeing her kids
and grandkids compete in their sporting events, along with watching her favorite
professional sports teams, the Portland Trailblazers, and the Seattle Seahawks.
Her survivors include her husband of 60 years, Jim Kame; her 3 children, Melody
Gebhard and her husband Brett, Randy Kame and his wife Kayo, and Trudy Kame; 7
Grandchildren, Tiffany, Jessica, Brittany, Elizabeth, Brianna, Jimmy, & Dieter; 2
Great-Grandchildren, Graysen & Landen; and sister Joan R. Oviatt. She was preceded
in death by her parents Fred and Carolyn Nordstrom.
Entombment will be at Willamette National Cemetery. Remembrances to the American
Cancer Society.
