Mr. Cooper was the best teacher I ever had, period. We learned more than spanish from him. We learned how to be good people, who were honest, dependable, responsibile, and just overall good people. I was lucky to have Mr Cooper as my teacher for 3 years at Eldorado Highschool in Las Vegas. I will always foundly remember him.
I am not sure how I found this 4 years after his passing, but I am glad I did. He left a mark on my life and so many more. He was a great man and a great teacher. You are missed Mr Cooper!

I have best memories in Mr. Cooper’s Spanish class at Eldorado High School. On the outside he seemed strict and even a little grumpy, but he had the best sense of humor, and truly cared for kids. My friends and I were often in his room at lunch and after school hanging around and bugging him about something, but really we just loved his attention, and I know we made him laugh too. He was one of the smartest teacher’s I knew and had the best no-nonsense teaching methods that actually work. I eventually went on to become a Spanish teacher myself and did my student with Mr. Cooper. He taught me so much and really set me up for success. I have so much to thank him for and after reading through some of the comments he undoubtedly left quite a legacy. I know I am reading the obituary late, but I would like to offer my deepest condolences to the family, and let them know how thankful I am to have had him in my life.

I was saddened to hear the passing of Mr Cooper. Condolences to his family. I had Mr Cooper for Chinese in las vegas. He was the only teacher to ever impact my life. He was the only teacher I ever had that you can tell he really cared for his students. He knew I was having issues at hone and always tried hard to get through to me esp and times I really needed that. He even saw my dragon painting I did in art class and asked if he could please keep it so he can put it in his room every year. I'm not sure if he ever did but I was honored he lived it so much so I said yes. I have never meet a teacher like him before high school and I never meet a teacher like him after. Forever in our memories and always missed.

Hanging with Mr. Cooper! I enjoyed having Mr. Cooper as my Chinese teacher at Eldorado, even though, I often had to write pages of "I will not talk in Chinese Class". I still remember some Chinese and even writing some characters to this day. I have fond memories of traveling to China with our class and Mr. Cooper. I will never forget having such an amazing teacher! Fly high, Mr. Cooper.
Love,
Leilani

Doctor Cooper! He was my colleague at Eldorado High School for a few years before he transferred schools. He was a really knowledgeable and open-minded friend. He knew how to cut through a lot of educational BS. We had loads of laughs....like the time he fell asleep at his desk and came out into the hall with a huge red mark on his forehead. Or when he broke his finger slamming his hand down on his desk out of frustration. The most fun though was making fun of Bob Yeary! In later years I enjoyed touching base with him and the "Lunch Bunch." I'll miss you, Curt. Condolences (I realize I'm a bit late, but I don't live in town anymore) to his family.

Mr. Cooper was a great teacher! I was in his very first Chinese class in Las Vegas and I was his first student to follow him from Chinese level 1-4. He was patient, kind and even had a sense of humor! I remember when he ordered the class Chinese food so he could teach us how to use chopsticks. I remember thinking how thoughtful that was. He cared about his students and their success. He encouraged me to learn how to sing in Chinese and compete in Chinese language competitions. I will always remember him and his many lessons.
