Obituary of David Nguyen Brookfield

David was born in Can Tho, Vietnam and arrived in Eugene, Oregon on October 13, 1993. He is remembered with love from his mother Susan Brookfield and Uncle Les Levitan. Moving to Portland in 1998, he attended Alameda Elementary, Beaumont Middle School and graduated from Pacific Crest Community School in 2011.In 2018, he graduated from Portland State University with a BA in Political Science. David was happiest in the kitchen and was working on building a career as a Chef. He thought about a career as a lawyer and worked as a clerk at the Law Offices of Rosie Reyes, a close friend, in San Antonio, Texas, but ultimately decided to pursue his culinary passion. David earned his black belt in Small Circle Jujitsu and recently started to learn Brazilian Jujitsu, appreciating Mixed Martial Arts fighting.Throughout his life, David dealt with the impact of being born with a significant cleft lip and palate and went through numerous corrective surgeries. He loved his cats, Harry and Sophie. Because of his love for nature and rock climbing, there will be an outside Memorial Service and a private service at one of his favorite climbing spots.
