Obituary of Stanley W. Peterson

Stanley Walter Peterson June 10, 1915 – April 12, 2010 Stanley W. Peterson, of Milwaukie, Oregon, passed away on April 12, 2010, at the age of 94. Stanley was born to Carl Oscar and Jennie Emelia (Johnson) Peterson in Portland, Oregon, on June 10, 1915. On December 30, 1941, he married Anne Waha Peterson, his wife of 60 years, who predeceased him. They had two children: Stan Peterson, Jr. of Oakland, CA, and Maryanne (Ron) Latham of Eugene, OR. He is also survived by a niece, Sharon Cantrill of Vaughn, WA, sister-in-law Elizabeth Waha of Portland, OR, his companion Lucille Brundage, of Portland, OR and his faithful dog, Lily. Stanley is also survived by four grandchildren and one great grandchild. Stanley was primarily raised in Portland and graduated Benson High School and Oregon State University. He served in the US Navy in American Samoa during WWII. Stanley was an engineer for Pacific Northwest Bell for 30 years with previous employment with Chevron Oil. He enjoyed restoring antique Fords, Auto Swap Meets, car clubs and family camping and fishing. He belonged to the Model T and Model A Car clubs in the Portland area. Private services will be held. Arrangements were made with Crown Memorial Center at the Milwaukie location.
