Obituary of Mildred Lucile Bush

Tigard area resident, Mildred (Millie) Lucile Bush passed away on April 12, 2010, the day of her 93rd birthday. Millie was born to Simeon and Catherine Lake in 1917 and was raised in Tampa, Florida. After High School she moved with her family to Miami. On June 3rd, 1939 Millie married Thomas Bush and the couple had two sons, Thomas and Robert. Millie worked as an office manager in banking for many years and was very active in her church, Riverside Baptist, Miami. She loved children and operated the church nursery for several years. Millie was a very crafty woman enjoying quilting and crocheting, and along with her sister, she made quilts and tablecloths for each of their children and grandchildren. Thomas Bush Sr. passed away in 1963 and Millie moved to Oregon to be near her son Tom and his family in 1990. Millie soon became a regular member at the Tigard United Methodist Church and to stay active, she participated in their ladies exercise group. She was also an avid reader and became part of a book group. Millie is survived by her son Thomas Bush Jr. and his wife Mary, son Robert Bush and his wife Linda; niece Lucile Thibault; sister Frances Bush; 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Millie’s Life of 93 years will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 16th at the Tigard United Methodist Church.
