Obituary of James Dean Hooper
James Dean Hooper June 23, 1931 – April 4, 2010 The world has lost a special man…and heaven has gained him. James Dean Hooper was born June 23, 1931, and passed away at his home in Portland, Oregon, on April 4, 2010, at the age of 78. He was born in Panora, Iowa to James Forrest and Dorothy Louise (Bennett) Hooper and lived most of his life in the Portland area. He was a carpenter for Portland State University for 35 years. He had many other talents; his largest accomplishment he would say was his family. Jim’s legacy includes his wife, Lola M. (Bennett) Hooper, step-daughter Brenda Carter and her two sons. He had four sons: Ken, Keith, Kevin and Kraig Hooper and three daughters: Karen Marroon, Karol Hatten, and Kathy Harper. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, a brother and sister-in-law, one niece and one nephew and many, many friends. He will be missed every day, until we see him again. Arrangements were made with Emily’s Cremation and Burial.
