Obituary of Scott Phillip Crawford
January 6, 1953 – February 20, 2010 Scott Phillip Crawford passed away on Saturday, February 20th, 2010. Scott was a true Oregonian, who resided earlier in Portland and more recently in Happy Valley. He passed away from natural causes. Scott is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Marie Crawford, and a son, Jason Crawford, a brother, Robert Clark Crawford, and his father, Robert Lee Crawford. Scott’s educational background includes Centennial High, Gresham, and then on to Spokane Community College and finishing at Portland State College, Portland. While at Centennial he earned an athletic scholarship (lettered 4-years in Track and 3-years in Football) and participated at Spokane CC in Track & Field Events (Shot-Put, Discus and Javelin). Scott had many interests, including his love of mountain climbing (he climbed most of the popular Cascade peaks), and hiking the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada. He simply loved fishing and the mountainous outdoors. In later years, Scott and Sharon spent most of their vacations on the coast, the same place they chose for their marriage. His employment as a Structural and Mechanical Designer included several West Coast firms, primarily related to the Pulp and Paper industry. These included Jeddeloh-Hays Inc., Engineering Consultants, Portland, Oregon; Georgia Pacific, Camas, Washington; Nor Pac Industries and Longview Fiber, both located in Longview, Washington and Norwest Engineering, in Portland, Oregon. He also was blessed with a natural artistic talent that led him into both sketching and watercolor paintings of nature and outdoor sceneries. Scott Crawford will be missed by his many friends who knew and loved him deeply and are extremely sad at his passing. There will be a Graveside Service at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Gresham, Oregon at a later date. Arrangements were made with Crown Memorial Center in Milwaukie.
