Obituary of Perry Cameron Boehm
Feb. 8, 1951 – Feb. 8, 2010 Perry Cameron Boehm, age 59, died on his birthday February 8, 2010. Born in Highland Park, Mich. on Feb. 8, 1951. He graduated Wayne State University with a Bachelors of Arts degree. He moved to Portland, Ore. in 1983 and went into business with three of his brothers for 8 years. Afterwards he tried his hand at sign painting, general carpentry and for the past several years he was a maintenance technician at the apartment complex he lived at. He enjoyed working with his hands and developed a passion for woodworking. Perry is survived by his siblings; Charles, Frances (Clayton) Teeter, June (Greg) Berner, Gary, Deborah (Carl) Wingert, and the late John (Linda), and Thomas (Nancy). John was his twin brother. He was alson preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Catherine. Perry enjoyed fishing, golf, cribbage, chess, bowling and shooting pool. One of his life's greatest joys was reading pulp fiction. Perry devoted his time and energies to many activities in the St. Johns community over the past twenty years. For the past 16 years he served as a board member of the Cathedral Park Jazz Festival, and managed the beer garden at the event. Festival goers will remember Perry at the entrance to the Beer Garden checking ID where his humor and good nature always kept the atmosphere safe, relaxed and fun. He is best remembered for his generosity of spirit, his robust laughter, and his propensity to ”tell it like it is.” Perry loved life to the fullest and enjoying spending time with his family. He will be missed by all of those fortunate enough to have known him. At his request there was no funeral. A memorial celebration of Perry’s life will be held at a later date.
