Sachiko Tsukamoto Obituary

Sachiko Tsukamoto, born in Tokyo, Japan on January 15, 1935, passed away peacefully in Wilsonville, OR on February 24, 2023.

She is survived by her son Miles Masumi Tsukamoto; daughter Lisa Yuriko Tsukamoto; son-in-law Steven Christopher Barnes; grandson Jarod Tsukamoto Barnes; and sister Ruriko Yoneda.  Her husband, George Kiyoshi Tsukamoto; parents, Seiei and Harue Kagiyama; and sister, Mariko K. Chang, have preceded her in death.

Sachiko grew up in Japan, and worked as a fashion (editorial) and runway model after graduating from school.  She married George Kiyoshi Tsukamoto in 1959 and moved to Honolulu, Hawaii, where she lived for over 50 years.  The family had resided in Hawaii Kai for over 42 years, from 1967-2009.  Sachiko enjoyed reading, watching television, getting together with friends, and ballroom dancing.

Sachiko and George moved the family to West Linn, OR in 2009 to be closer to their daughter, her husband and only grandchild, Jarod.

Sachiko will return to Hawaii, for her final committal service later this year.  She will be laid to rest with her husband at the Hawaii State Veterans’ Cemetery in Kaneohe, Hawaii.  A small portion of her ashes will also be scattered near her birthplace in Tokyo, Japan.
