Deborah Boone

Obituary of Deborah Ann Boone

On February 23, 2023, Deborah Ann Boone, loving Mother, sister and aunt, passed away at the age of 73, with her daughter Gina by her side. Deborah survived cancer and kidney failure earlier in life, but lost her battle to end-stage dementia.

Deborah was born to Ralph and Margaret (Peggy) Boone on May 17th, 1949. She traveled to Colorado after her high, school graduation to attend College, preparing for the workforce. She got married and moved to Az. She had two children; her daughter Gina & her son Shannon. After her divorce she moved her family back to Salem to raise her family while working for the Salem School District as an instructional assistant. She moved with her adult daughter Gina to Portland & Beaverton becoming roommates, sharing expenses and making memories. Shannon was always close by helping out and visiting when work allowed.  She moved on her own for 2 years to Detroit MI to become a successful buyer for Nordstrom, but when health concerns arose, she chose to move back to Tigard and live again with her daughter Gina. She then became a Sales & Fashion consultant with “White House Black Market”.  Prior to retirement, Deborah worked for the NWRESD Early Childhood program, working with special needs children. Her skills of organization, creativity, patience and teamwork, allowed her rewarding careers in all fields of employment.

Her story here on earth provided many chapters written by those whose lives she touched. There was never a person she met that she did not consider a friend. Deb had the gift of gab, easily engaging with others. She was imaginatively creative; designing greeting cards for friends and family, as well as selling them to local gift stores and craft fairs. She was an avid Oregon Duck fan and enjoyed countless hours watching them with her children. Shannon and Gina were her greatest pride and joy, cherishing every moment spent with them along with Eugene, the family black lab.

Deborah’s faith and love of God was her guiding light throughout her lives journey. It gave her great comfort as her health began to fail, always believing God had a plan for her. She was a member of Christs Church Episcopal Parish for many years, attending regularly. Her strength, resilience and performance here on earth was inspirational to all who knew her. Although this chapter here on earth ends, a new one begins in heaven. We wish her peace and joy in her heavenly home.

Deborah is survived by her two children, Gina Trent, Sisters; Judy Whitteman, and Margaret “Bogie” Sawyer, Nieces; Kristin Kirkland, Margaret Anderson, & Samantha Miles, Nephew Lance Sawyer and many friends who loved and admired her.

Her memorial services will be held on Saturday, 10 A.M. March 18, 2023 at Christ Church Episcopal Parish, 1060 Chandler Rd., Lake Oswego, OR 97034
