Glen Ivall

Obituary of Glen Ivall

On Tuesday, December 6th 2022, Glen Ivall of Portland Oregon, a beloved friend to many, father and grandfather, passed away at the age of 78. Glen passed at Legacy Emanuel hospital of heart failure. He is survived by two sons, a daughter, and four grandchildren.

Glen was born January 5th, 1944 in Aberdeen, Washington, and was raised by his mother and father Earl and Hazel Ivall, as well as his older half-sister Beatrice, in Lake Oswego, Oregon where he attended public schools.

Glen loved hard work and was an accomplished salesman throughout his life. Starting at a young age Glen worked at the family shake shop in downtown Lake Oswego, sold fishing lures to local fishermen, worked at the Lake Oswego movie theater, and many other self-driven enterprises. Glen served in the Armed Forces on the Oregon coast with the Oregon Army National Guard for 6 years, graduating top of his class for his MOS, and honorably separated. While serving on the coast with the Oregon National Guard, Glen cemented his love of this country and the Oregon Coast. Glen also attended Portland State University before moving on to sales in the automotive industry. Glen quickly made a name for himself and opened his own business as an automotive wholesaler and rep in the northwest for many companies, and was a well-known yearly attendee at SEMA in Las Vegas. Glen retired around 2010.

Glen loved his fun and played as hard as he worked. He was an avid sports and muscle car enthusiast as well as driver, and competitor. Glen owned an astonishing number of sports cars and other vehicles throughout his life numbering in several dozen.  He owned many boats through the years and loved the water, culminating in the eventual purchase of a new custom 52 foot Yacht, the Kanoa II which could be seen up and down the Willamette River in the 80s and 90s.

Glen also enjoyed fishing which he did throughout his life; from bow fishing early in life to guided fishing for Marlin, Salmon and Steelhead later. Glen also loved to dance and could be found at any of the concerts, fairs or clubs around Portland until he passed. He was a competitive table tennis player, excellent pool player and world traveler – Hawaii and Mexico being some of his favorite destinations he frequented often.

Throughout his life he made many friends, partners and loved ones who will truly miss him.
