Virginia was born in Salem and attended North Salem High. She was part of the Civil Air Patrol volunteers in the mid ‘50’s. Her job at The Downtown Drive In as a teen, brought her knowledge of the perfect halibut bites and chocolate Cokes to the delight of her family.
Virginia was a wonderful cook and hostess, who still had part of the makings of her next party in her home.
In 1967 Virginia became a baptized Jehovah’s Witness after years of searching and church hopping. Her faith kept her from fear of dying knowing the promises of the Bible.
Her travels brought her much joy, including Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Paris, Rome, Venice, Amsterdam, Victoria and of course many trips to Hawaii.
In early December, a surprise “reunion” was held in her honor. Her family wanted to show her how much she was loved.
As the end of her 2+ year struggle with pancreatic cancer neared, she still enjoyed visiting her friends. She loved her family, but was especially enamored of the newest member, baby Oliver.
A memorial will be held Saturday, February 4, at 2pm, at the Keizer Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 5138 10th Ave NE Keizer. You are invited.
