Obituary of Sharon Ann Behrendt
Sharon Ann Behrendt passed away unexpectedly November 9, 2022 in Tigard OR.
She was born Sharon Ann Parker in Oakland CA. September 14th 1944 to Earl Parker and Agnes Macedo-Parker. At age 11 she met Robert “Bobby” Behrendt while learning to roller skate at Alvarado Park Roller Skating Rink in Richmond CA. Their life long romance led them to be married May 4, 1962 in Rodeo CA., and were inseparable for 61 years.
Sharon and Bobby had 2 children, Tod and Rodney, which led to 5 grandchildren, Courtney, Rachel, Dean, Danielle and Tyler and 4 great grandchildren.
Sharon was employed with Kihei Physicians/Maui HA., Oaks Park Roller Rink, Portland OR. and for 30 years she helped Bobby run their family business “Bob Behrendts Floor-decor” in Maui HA.
Hawaii is where Sharon and Bobby re-kindled their passion for competitive roller skating and achieved multiple national titles and induction to the Roller Skating Hall of Fame in 2018. Sharon’s exuberant personality, passion for the sport and her extensive knowledge allowed her to coach and produce many national champions as well.
She was a devoted wife, mother, coach, mentor and lived life to it’s fullest and what made Sharon unique was her “cheerleader” style of support for everyone, and her friends became friends for life.
Her greatest achievements were her 61 years of marriage, her children and grand-children and great grand-children.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Agnes and a sister Aileen Ivance.
To know her is to know that just at the moment when someone said “she is gone” there are other eyes watching her coming and other voices ready to take her up with glad shouts of “here she comes”!
