Bruce Rogers

Dec. 28, 1928 - June 23, 2022

   Bruce was born in Portland, Ore., to Sheridan Rogers and Erma Doering Rogers. He attended Washington High School and the University of Portland, graduating with a degree in Electrical Engineering.
He married Patricia Levy in 1960. They moved to Washington, D.C., where their two daughters were born. Sadly, Patricia passed away in 1970. Bruce raised his two daughters in Portland while working at Bonneville Power Administration for 30 years. He married Judy Thurber in 1989. She preceded him in death in 2009. Bruce enjoyed skiing, spending time at his cabin at Elk Lake, volunteering at the local elementary school and serving on the United Methodist Church Extension Society.
Survivors are daughters, Kelly Rogers, Kamala Rogers-Holliday and her husband, Chris Holliday; grandchildren, Cheyenne Holliday, Dillon Holliday and Michael Thurber; stepdaughters, Brittany Thurber and Jocelyn Thurber; first cousin, Mildred Riley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m., Aug. 19, 2022, at First United Methodist Church, 1838 S.W. Jefferson St., Portland, OR. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church Extension Society, 1505 S.W. 18th Ave., Portland, OR.
