Heather Elizabeth Pitts
On Wednesday, June 22, 2022, Heather Elizabeth Pitts, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away at the age of 77.
Heather was born on September 3, 1944 in Birmingham, England to William and Mary (Buchanan) Dyson. She moved to the US and attended high school in Eugene, Oregon. She married Richard Irwin Slack and they raised three children, Steven, Mathew, and Heather Ann. She later remarried and she and her husband, John Cornez Pitts, lived in the Salem area.
Heather worked for the Chamber of Commerce, was a small business owner, and later worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Her beautiful lacework was admired by friends and family, and she was often to be found amongst the community of her local Unitarian church.
Heather is survived by her son, Mathew, her sisters Colleen and Eileen, and her two grandchildren Elena and Marcus.
