Obituary of Carol Sue Stark
FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS
Carol Sue Stark
Date of Birth: May 22nd, 1940
Date of Death: June 9th, 2022
Carol Sue Stark was born in Benton, Illinois, to George Mandrill Burnett and Elsie Mae Burnett (Parmer). In 1959, she married Howard Prentiss Stark, Jr. and moved to Portland, Oregon, where he originated from. They were married 54 years before his passing in 2013. Carol was passionate about researching family genealogy. Over the years, she had several cats which were well loved and she relished watching and feeding the many species of birds that visited her back yard. Literally, they were “eating out of her hand” at one point. Her yard was beautiful and she enjoyed gardening and delighted in the beautiful flowers in her yard which included several rose bushes that her husband planted for her. Now, there is a resident wild bunny rabbit who is looking for the treats she used to feed him. When her grandchildren were younger, she had her Christmas shopping done by Halloween and pulled out all the stops to make Christmas really special for them at her house. For years, she was a diligent caregiver, 24/7 for her husband as she dealt with his Alzheimer’s Disease. After he passed, Carol was fortunate to have wonderful, caring neighbors who were always there for her. On 6/9/2022, Carol passed peacefully and comfortably at Whitewood Gardens of Gresham. She is survived by her children: Cynthia (Michael) Allen of Vancouver, WA, Laura Anderson of Gresham, OR, Bradley (Lisa) Stark of Hillsboro, OR, and Gregory (Jessica) Stark of Pittston, PA; grandchildren: Jordan Allen, Daniel Allen, Sarah Allen, Trisha (Belthem) Marzano, Natasha Allen, Emma Anderson, Kenny Howell, Trenton Stark, Emilia Stark and Kiryn White; siblings: Bob, Jim, Teenie and Shirley. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings: Bill, Leonard, Norma, Don, Glen, George, Patty and Lucille. The family is planning a private memorial service at a later date.
