Obituary of Arlie Charlene Woodard
Arlie Charlene Woodard, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and wife passed away peacefully on May 14th, 2022, at St. Vincent Hospital in Portland. Arlie was born January 28, 1933, in Bismarck ND to Orren Edward and Yvonne (Marcelin) Fossum. She grew up in Corvallis, OR with her brother Darrel Fossum and married Charles Leo Woodard in 1953. Charles (Chuck) and Arlie raised five children in Tigard, OR.
Arlie had a passion for art, clothing, and fashion. All things that glittered and sparkled. She was rarely seen without color and bling that matched her open and loving spirit. She was excellent in all things creative and artistic – especially painting, seamstress (clothing design), and a fabulous cook. Her family always raved about the delicious plates at the dinner table. She worked as a licensed hairdresser and was well known in the community as the owner of Tigard Beer and Wine and Gift store.
Arlie was predeceased by her parents, brother, and husband as well as three children, Steven Brian, Steven, and Niklas Jon Woodard. She is survived by two sons, Marc Woodard and Mike Woodard, and one daughter, Terry Neddeau; ten grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Her love for her family is beyond measure and her memories of her love will be held precious to all who knew her. Her favorite times were having the family together during the summertime at the pool. She loved hanging out until the sun went down and the pool lights glowed with her loved ones. These good times will be remembered forever!
Funeral Services will be held on July 22 at 10:00 am at St. Antony’s Church, Tigard Or., with Father Vincent, officiating. A reception will follow at the church hall.
