Obituary of Colvin Avery Henderson
Colvin Avery Henderson passed on the morning of May 29, 2022. He was born April 27, 1956, to Frances (Brazzle) Jackson and will be greatly missed.
Colvin attended Highland Elementary grade school, which was later renamed Martin Luther King Elementary. He was later part of the New Busing Program and attended Sitton Elementary. He graduated from Grant High School. After graduation, he enrolled and attended college for two years at the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon.
Taking a break from college, he worked briefly at Pepsi Cola Company and the US Post Office. After working 32 years for Bonneville Power, Colvin retired on June 29th, 2021.
Colvin was an avid book collector and book reader. He enjoyed playing his piano, listening to all kinds of music and Asian art.
He is survived by his daughter Shaylee Graham and two grand-daughter’s Thea and Jade Hilaire, his sister Arlene Lewis, his brother Odell Henderson, Larry Brazzle and Lateef Kareem who lives in Georgia.
He will be missed by a host of first cousins:
Lovey Perez, Paul (Poncho)Lindsey, Vietta Lowe, Brad Lindsey, Mark Lindsey and Terez Lindsey. Jessie & Beverly Brazzle. Deborah, Darby and Monette Williams all living in Texas.
May Jewel Roberts, Lester Roberts, Shawn Marie Roberts; all living in Seattle, Washington.
He was preceded by first cousins: James Perez, De’Angelo Tupper, Vernon Brazzle, Denarvel Brazzle, Charlene, Darlene & Gloria Jean Roberts, Jackie Brazzle; oldest brother Washington Callier (WC) and youngest brother Bruce Jackson.
All family members would like to express our deepest appreciation and love shown by his friend, caregiver and the love of his life, Irma Corona, who blessed us with help and love to help us get us through his and our troubled times.
Also, we should include his nieces and nephews: Lamont Henderson, Anthony Henderson, Nikisha Henderson, Alisha (Brazzle) Morgan, Monica (Brazzle) Johnson, Larry (Boomer) Brazzle Jr., Ovelia (Dharsun) Lewis, Frances (Shree) Lewis Alexis Lewis, Aziza Kareem, Bejanae Kareem, Sulamon (Bubba) Kareem & Maryah Jackson.
