Obituary of Teddi Allene Taylor

Teddi A. Taylor (née Teddi Baker) passed peacefully on May 2, 2022 at Farmington Square in Salem at the age of 95.  Teddi was born and raised in Monrovia, CA, where after high school, she met the love of her life, William (Bill) H. Taylor and they married August 12, 1945.  Soon after their marriage they moved across the country to rural Maine to be near Bill’s family, where their 4 children were born.

Teddi loved being near the ocean and Bill loved the forest, so they compromised on settling in Salem, Oregon to raise their family; and later lived many years in the Colton/Mollala area. Bill preceded Teddi in death in 1993.  Teddi is survived by her 4 children — Jim Taylor (wife, Shirley) of Rockwall, TX; Lee Taylor (partner, Terri Stone) of Ophir, OR; Kimberly James (husband, William) of Lander, WY; and Kerre Wallace (husband, Hal) of Toledo, OR.  Teddi was proud of her 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Teddi loved and cared for animals all her life, especially dogs and horses!  She was a founding member of Mollala Aid for Animals where she rescued scores of dogs, in addition to the many she kept as pets!  Teddi and Bill were also very active in trail riding and equestrian organizations over the years.

Teddi loved traveling and in addition to a number of cruises, traveled often to various destinations across the U.S. and an extraordinary trip to China in 1999.  Teddi was also very creative and artistic; and in addition to always keeping a lovely home enjoyed painting, drawing and collecting art throughout her life.

Teddi will be interred at Willamette National Cemetery near Portland, OR, with her late husband… together again.
