Duane (Duke) A. Kobs
Duane A. Kobs (Duke), died February 24, 2022 at age 75.
Duke was born July 14, 1946 in Santa Monica, California. As a youth he was a Y Indian Guide and played football in high school for Mouse Davis. He graduated from Milwaukie High School in 1964 and served with the 101st Airborne Division for 3 years, with a tour in Vietnam and finishing his career as a drill instructor, Staff Sergeant at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. After military service he worked for Portland General Electric for 23 years as a lineman and ultimately as Fleet Manager. A second career was at Clackamas County Department of Transportation as Dept. Coordinator for approximately 15 years, from which he retired.
In 1967 he married Colleen Shields, they divorced in 2002. He married Mary Lu Phipps 2013, they divorced in 2016. Survivors include his son Trevor Kobs and granddaughter Marley Kobs.
