Obituary of Carol Basey

Carol Ann Basey passed away February 14th 2022 at 3:00 pm at her residence in Portland, Oregon. She was 80 years old. At the time of her death, Carol was surrounded by children, grandchildren and others who loved her very much. She is survived by her four children Michael Anthony Spencer, Camra Ann Moreno, Richard Andrew Basey and Melissa Louise Basey, five grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and her three brothers: Ray Spencer, Jack Spencer and Joe Spencer. She had two sisters Mary Lanphere and Sharon Thompson who both preceded her in death as did her older brother Robert Spencer.

Carol was born to Verle and John Pfenning on December 23rd 1941. She lost her father when she was less than a year old and was later adopted by her step father Raymond G Spencer. Carol survived the Vanport flood when she was six years old along with her mother, step father, and older brother. Carol was a single mother and worked multiple jobs to provide for her children. Although they did not have much money, they always had an abundance of love. Carol's strong work ethic, kind heart and insatiable sense of humor will live on in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to have known her.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on March 4th, 2022 at Zion Memorial Park Cemetery 2010 S Township Rd, Canby, OR 97013. The family is requesting that those attending the services honor Carol by wearing yellow, her favorite color.
