Diana Arvetta (Ovio) Brassfield
July 28, 1939 - February 2, 2022
Diana Arvetta (Ovio) Brassfield, age 82, of Happy Valley, Oregon, passed away on February 2, 2022.
She was born and raised in Hawaii and is the daughter of Nicholas and Alice Ovio. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Honolulu, Hawaii and also attended Clackamas Community College in Oregon City, Oregon.
Her entire life revolved around her family and she was loved deeply by each and every one of them. In her earlier years you could find her playing piano or dancing the hula on Waikiki Beach. Once she married, she moved to the mainland and became a mother to four children and later welcomed two additional stepdaughters into her life. If she wasn’t with her family, she could most likely be found at a fabric store or quilt shop because she took an avid interest in making quilts for everyone in the family and beyond. She also owned a flower business for several years and brought joy to many other loved ones with her beautiful bouquets. She loved to travel and lived in Madrid Spain for five years and traveled to several European countries while she was there.
Diana was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Nicholas Ovio, her stepdaughter Cheri Brassfield and grandson, Nikkolais Brassfield-Boles. She leaves her husband of 48 years, Wallace Brassfield, to continue watching over the family. She was the mother of four children; John Ancich (D'Ann Jackson), Tammy Ancich-Wood (Jim O’Neil), Darlene Ancich-Stratton (Barry) and Heather Ancich-Stewart (Mark); and two stepdaughters; Cheri Brassfield (Kevin Parsons) and Paula Brooke (Thomas). She was the grandmother of nine; Matthew (Kaci), Aaron (Emily), Brittanee (Ryan), Haleigh, Gabby, Sherley, Nikkolais, Roman and Chloe. She was also blessed to have five great-grandchildren; Rourke, Colton, Ryder, Greylind, Sienna and one great-granddaughter on the way.
A graveside service will be held for Diana on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at 3:00pm at River View Cemetery, 300 South Taylors Ferry Road, Section 135, Portland, OR.
