Obituary of Gayle Courier

Gayle Frances (Johnson) Courier
1952-2022

We are saddened to announce the passing of our mother Gayle Frances (Johnson) Courier.  She passed away at her home in Tualatin, Oregon from natural causes.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Marjorie Hanks Johnson and Glenn Johnson, sister Ann “Shelly” Johnson and brother Gordian Johnson.
Gayle Courier is survived by her husband George “Ed” Courier, her children Mercy, Kelly and John, her brother William "Bill" Hall, her grandchildren Joshua, Ashley, Maddison, John, David, Vivienne and Tyson, her great-grandchildren Roman and Mia.

Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and during the course of her life she lived in several different states. She enjoyed each place for the area's unique qualities including; Washington, Oregon, California, Tennessee and Georgia.

Our mother was an avid reader, to say the least.  Her greatest pleasure in life was immersing herself in a piece of literature. Books would transport her to different times, places and exciting adventures.  She was intelligent, well-spoken and creative.  Mom was a talented writer with a sharp wit.  She truly enjoyed playing with her grandchildren.  They would sit at the kitchen table to draw, read and play together.

Some of our fondest memories were of family trips. She encouraged us to explore, be original and find our independence. She loved all of her children completely and she will be truly missed.

Memorial details will be shared when they are available.
