Obituary of Julia M. Van Stone
Julia M. Van Stone was born on October 17th, 1938 in Green Castle, Indiana to George Arnold and Ruth Bennett. She went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on January 25th, 2022 at the age of 83 in Canby, Oregon.
Julia attended Fillmore High School and graduated in 1955. On June 21st, 1958, she married Paul D. Van Stone in Fillmore, IN. They were married for 61 years until Paul’s death on July 8th, 2019. Julia and her husband Paul retired to Naples, FL in 1992. They lived in Naples for 26 years before Julia moved to Oregon in 2019 to be closer to her family.
Early in her career she was an executive secretary for Intl. Harvester and Cargill and she volunteered for Meals on Wheels.
Julia had many hobbies, including being a Life Master Bridge Player, a talented home decorator, a painter, and a seamstress. She could be described as loving, having a beautiful personality, helpful, kind, giving, and everyone who knew her loved her.
In addition to her parents and four siblings, Julia was recently preceded in death by her husband, Paul D. Van Stone, and their daughter Valerie L. Van Stone-Plante.
She is survived by her son; Paul D. Van Stone II, and his wife Denise of Mound, MN her daughter Kimberly K. Maleike and her husband Cort of Wilsonville, OR; ; son Bradley A. Van Stone and his wife Lauri of Cave Creek, AZ; 8 grandchildren, and 4 great granddaughters.
