Obituary of Gunter Dinger

Günter (Rudy) Dinger (May 18, 1945 – January 26, 2022)

Born in Zeulenroda, Germany, in 1945, Rudy and his parents came to America in the 1950s, passing through Ellis Island en route to live with an aunt in Milwaukee, Oregon. Rudy held a variety of jobs throughout his life, starting out crafting truck parts at Bellevue Manufacturing before transitioning to real estate, sales at Portland’s Pacific Seafood, and finally in Patient Transportation. In his free time, Rudy tended flowering cactus and jade plants, was an avid reader of thrillers and suspense novels, and enjoyed eating the Eastern European food of his childhood cooked by his wife, Ella.

He is survived by his wife; his daughter, Cynthia Kolar; his four grandchildren Dallas, Grayson, Logan, and Nathaniel; and a nephew, Michael Dinger.

Rudy passed away peacefully of dementia and Parkinson’s disease. No memorial service is scheduled.

Donations to the Parkinson’s Foundation in Rudy’s memory are appreciated.
