Obituary of Roy E. Friend
Roy E. Friend (Sr.) of Boring, Oregon has ended his long journey of many struggles, and passed onto his next great adventure. He departed this world on Jan 30, 2022 at 75 years old, with his beloved wife, Sharon of almost 50 years, by his side.
Roy had a great presence about him AND an unmatched sense of humor. His pride and dream became true with his hard work and dedication in founding and leading his business, F & F Grinding, Inc. It is now 30 years old and thriving under the direction of his Son and Wife.
His more recent accomplishment, which came about from boredom, was his knife collection. Many, Many, Many knives!!!! (Lol)
He loved his family, and leaves behind his beloved wife Sharon, his three children; Roy (Elma), Debbie, and Beckie, his four grandchildren; Heidi (Adrian), Amber (Chad), Roy (Jennifer) and Bryan (Ashley), let’s not forget the five Great- Grandchildren; Amya, Roy, Hannah, Madeline, and Grace, and his siblings; Grace, Phil, Christine, and Jim. Just as important, he is survived by his extended family; Colleen (Chris), and John with his children - Zachary, Skyler, Megan, and Austin, along with his more recent honorary grandchild; Spencer - otherwise known as Cotton Picker.
Roy was preceded by his parents Roy and Hazel Friend, his brothers Chet and Don.
The family is currently planning his “Celebration of Life” on June 26th. If you would like to attend, or have any questions please reach out to Roy’s family.
For those who wish to memorialize Roy, his favorite charities were St. Jude for Children and the Disaster Relief funding with Salvation Army.
