Obituary of Renee Inabnitt
Renee Colleen Kum Lin Inabnitt was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, the daughter of the late Joseph Kealamakia Chow and Nadine Lina Correa. She was raised in and around Honolulu, Hawaii where she attended and graduated from St. Francis High School.
In 1971, she was united in Marriage to Alvin M. Kalawe, they lived as husband and wife in Georgia and Germany and had two children: Kimberly Ann Kalawe Choy of Honolulu, HI and Alvin Michihiro Kalawe of Las Vegas, NV. They eventually divorced in April 1988
In October 1991, she married Raymond L. Inabnitt and took up the duties of wife. She also stepped into the role of stepmother to Michael Li Inabnitt of Honolulu, HI and Sue Lin Inabnitt of Maryland. Following their marriage they resided in Georgia, then moved to Hawaii for 5 years and then to Portland, OR in 1997. She worked as a A&E Tech for The US Army Corps of Engineers for the last 20 years of her career. Renee was deployed to multiple hurricane, tornado and flood responses over the years. She was also deployed to Baghdad, Iraq in 2004 for a year-long tour. She later volunteered for a 16 month tour of duty in Kabul Afghanistan in 2009. Renee retired from Federal Civil Service with the US Army after over 30 years of dedication..
After retirement, she focused her efforts on her Grandkids; Aniston Cabael, Avin Kalawe and Karista Kalawe. Her other interests were reading, bird watching, fishing, feeding the wildlife in the back yard and serving as a forum advisor and Subject Matter Expert on Eagles of the world. She helped monitor and administered multiple live feed eagle webcams around the world.
She is survived by her Mother Nadine Kealamakia, Brother Joe Kealamakia, Sisters Lori-Ann Chow Wright and Teri Mae Pierce, her husband Ray Inabnitt, two children: Kimberly Michiko Kalawe Choy, Alvin Michihiro Kalawe and two step children: Sue Lin Inabnitt and Michael Li Inabnitt, 3 grandchildren; Aniston Cabael, Avin Kalawe, Karista Kalawe and 1 step grandchild plus multiple nieces and nephews.
As per her wishes, no memorial services or viewing will be held. Renee wished to be cremated and returned to her beloved and beautiful island home. Her final resting place will be in The National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl) on Oahu, Hawaii.
