Obituary of Sarah Mary Woodyard
Sarah “Sally” Mary Woodyard, age 80, went to be with her Lord and Savior December 10, 2021 at Friendsview Manor, Newberg, Oregon.
Sally was born June 28, 1941 in San Diego, CA to Edward Marion and Frances Ellen (Porter) Lizarraras. Sally was the middle child between brothers Edward Jr. and Allan.
Sally graduated from high school in Escondido, CA and from San Diego State College with a degree in marketing and business.
She went to work for an advertising agency and married the owner, Donald Raymond Evers on December 29, 1969. Donald died on December 28, 1979, the day before their 10th anniversary.
For many years she was the West Coast Regional Director for Habitat for Humanity. One of her favorite memories was meeting President Jimmy and Rosalind Carter.
Sally married John Woodyard on May 29, 1993 in Park City, Utah. They created many special memories with John’s children and grandchildren. They moved to Friendsview Manor in April of 2003. John died March 13, 2013. Sally worked several years in marketing for Friendsview Manor and also volunteered in many different capacities there. She was much loved and appreciated.
Sally is preceded in death by her parents and brothers. She will be missed by her stepchildren Robert (Phama) Woodyard of Lynden, WA; Andrew (Claire) Woodyard of Mountlake Terrace, WA; and Susie (Eric) Barbo of Everson, WA, and 14 step grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to a brief memorial service on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 10:00 am at Newberg Friends Church, 307 S. College, in Newberg, Oregon. No flowers please.
