Patience T. Davis
September 24, 1953 - November 12, 2021
Patience passed on November 12, 2021, surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the third of three children of Louise [Dvorak] Eicke and Darrell Eicke. She is survived by her children, Christopher Howard, his daughter Lyli; Brandi Davis, her daughter Ashlie Maxey, her great grandchildren Andres and Solisia; her partner, John McDowell, his daughters Lisa Knight, her daughter Tabitha, and Haylee Scott, and her children Jaidyn, Kayson, Brooklyn, and Brynleigh.
Patience worked doing replanting for the US Forest Service (known as Mountain Goat Mary), set choke for heli-loggers, and also bartended for many years in Montana, Idaho, and Oregon. She was known for her love of people and her zest for life. She was willing to help anyone with anything, even to repairing cars and motorcycles. Patience was a free spirit, who traveled and lived in many different states including living a pioneer lifestyle for several years in a cabin deep in Montana with her children. Patience enjoyed music and dancing, bluegrass festivals, singing, and playing guitar.
Her greatest joy was to spend time with John, her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was a gifted gardener and enjoyed sharing plants with others in the Lebanon area. She enjoyed feeding and watching her hummingbirds and other wildlife in her yard and trips to the coast. Despite chronic health problems, she maintained her sense of humor and enjoyed keeping in touch with friends throughout the country.
Patience treasured her relationship with Jesus, her Savior. She cherished reading her Bible, praying for others, and learning more about God every day. Her email address was “fitmeforheaven” and she was ready to enter into the joy of her Master! “[Jesus] will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever” Rev. 21:4.
