Obituary of Linda Sue Haffner
Linda Sue Haffner (nee Carpenter), age 79, died peacefully in her home surrounded by family and friends. Linda was a lifelong Salem resident. As a youth, she picked produce in the Willamette Valley fields and then went on to work in a local eye care clinic for nearly twenty-five years. Later she ran a tavern in Dallas, Oregon. She enjoyed reading, crosswords, cooking, eating seafood (especially lobster and crab), and spending time with her girlfriends on the Little North Fork of the Santiam River. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Haffner, her father LC Carpenter, and her mother Eileen Karlovich. She is survived by her daughters Sally Wilson (Tom) and Molly McDaniel along with six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Private arrangements by Crown Cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ASPCA.
