Obituary of James Gilmore Mayer
Wilsonville resident, James Gilmore Mayer, 81, died on September 14, 2009 in Wilsonville, Oregon. James was born on December 8, 1927 in Los Angeles, to Chauncy and Sally Mayer. He attended high school in Los Angeles, and in 1956, he married Millie Kenkel and the couple had 5 children. The family moved to Lake Oswego in 1973. James co-founded an insulation company with his son, John, called Lake Oswego Insulation, providing insulation for both commercial and residential buildings. In the mid-90’s, James retired and John took over the business. Away from work, James loved to go fishing and make home improvements, and travel to places including Australia and China. James was a member of St. Cyril Catholic Church in Wilsonville. James is survived by his wife, Millie Mayer; daughter, Stephanie Kenney and husband Bill; son, James Mayer; son, John Mayer and wife, Tiffany; daughter, Michelle Keyser; son, Paul Mayer and wife Carolyn; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. There will be a private family mass at St. Cyril in Wilsonville. Please send donation in memory of James to Signature Hospice at www.signaturehospice.com.
