Obituary of Magdalena Ludington
Magdalena Marion Tufano Ludington, 79, of Salem, Oregon, passed away at her home on October 3, 2021.
She was born on December 18, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois. Daughter of the late Louis and Mary Tufano. She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Ernest (Skip) Ludington, her two daughters, Susan Berlinger-Vega and Sherylyn (Lynie) Berlinger, her son Anthony (Tony) Berlinger, three stepchildren, Ann Ludington, Lisa Sanders, and Jason Ludington. 14 grandchildren; Taylin, Alesha, Jade, Jefferson, Allison, Ashley, Dylan, Kassandra (KC), Dominique, Amber, Brian, Marissa, Minnie, and Leland. 17 great-grandchildren: Juan (Kiko), Christopher, Isaac, Katryina, Jacob, Andrew, Zoey, Addilynn, Ayden, Riley, Silas, Ivy, Eli, Jasper, Ezequiel, and baby Eleanor arriving in December 2021.
She is also survived by her bonus daughter’s Beth George-Butler and Kay Conley, and her wonderful niece, Virginia Middleton. She thought the world of these three ladies.
She was preceded in death by her childhood friend, Ann Stanley, friends Brenda and David Pettengill, and her brother Anthony (Tony) Tufano.
She was loved by all that knew her. She is known for throwing the greatest Holiday and family celebrations, which she has passed on to her youngest daughter. Family was most important to her. She was the best cook and always made way too much food. She will always be remembered for her salad; it was everyone’s favorite. She enjoyed the beach, fairs, watching fireworks, parties, drives, playing games, and spending time with her family, and especially her grandkids.
There will be a celebration of life on October 16,2021 at 1:00 P.M. at Queen of Peace church, 4221 Lone Oak Rd., SE Salem, Oregon 97302.
