Obituary of Joyce Lee Poppert

September 1938 to September 2021

Joyce passed away from pneumonia after a long battle with Multiple Myeloma. She was born & raised in Portland, Oregon until she married Roger Poppert at the age of 18. This started a new chapter in her life as an Air Force wife and mother where she traveled to many of the states, Germany and Guam.

She had many jobs in addition to being a wonderful mother and wife. She was a long distance operator, a sales person at a Woolworth store, a cub scout den mother, a brownie leader, a ceramics shop manager who taught adult and children classes, cleaned houses for the military, was a dental assistant for the Navy, volunteered for the Red Cross and was a demonstrator of food, pots & pans.

Joyce had a contagious laugh that brought smiles to many faces everywhere she went. She was a very social person. Practically everyone that met her became her friend and gave her a special place in their heart. Joyce loved to garden, read murder mystery novels, and play games like Farkle, BINGO and cards. Joyce’s biggest pride and joy was her family.

She will be loved and missed by many.

She is survived by:

3 children: Allen, Mark and Tammy,

7 grand children: Erin, Mark, Klarissa, Rachelle, Ashley, Kimberly and Lewis

9 great grand children: Corbin, Rory, Layla, Ryker, Nixon, Brady, Owen, Charlie, Sibling soon to arrive
