Obituary of Douglas Lee Petersen
Douglas Lee Petersen age 86 passed away in his home peacefully with his loving wife of 29 years Rona and his oldest daughter Becky by his side.
Born in Portland, Oregon Doug lived in Milwaukie, Oregon most of his life. He was a graduate of Milwaukie High School class of 1954.
Doug was an outgoing man who enjoyed talking and interacting with anyone and everyone. He knew no strangers. Doug loved the outdoors, sitting outside observing nature was one of his favorite pastimes. In his younger days he loved to golf, go hunting and camping with family members, and of course follow his beloved Blazers. He was also known to cut quite a rug and was always up for a good time.
Doug was preceded in death by his brother Steve (Bev), oldest son Chris, and granddaughter Jamie. He will be deeply missed by wife Rona; daughters Becky (Colin) Chisholm, Jo (Jim) Barham; son Terry (Mary Jane) Petersen, daughter in-law Peggy Petersen, stepson Michael (Meredith) Eldridge,and brother Jay (Linda) Petersen. Doug was blessed with seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors.
A celebration of life to be held at a future date to be determined, due to the COVID pandemic.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of choice can be made in Doug's memory.
