Obituary of Elizabeth Ann Baker

Elizabeth Ann Baker (Meier) was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother , aunt,  sister, and friend. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 10, 2021 in Milwaukie, Oregon at the age of 94.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband Ellison. She leaves behind her daughter Linda Clark and husband Don; daughter Elani; sister Dorothy; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

 

Elizabeth was a devoted Catholic. Born to William and Marie Meier in Salem, Oregon on March 21,1927, she spent her early years on her family's dairy farm. After graduating from Sacred Heart Academy in 1945, she married Ellison, a service member of the United States Navy. During his time in the military, the two of them lived in Newport, Rhode Island, Washington, D.C., and San Diego, California.

 

She worked as a Secretary for Fairview Training Center for 20 years. She enjoyed International traveling, knitting, walking, gardening (Master Gardener), watching the Trailblazers and spending time with her family and friends. As an adult, she became a skilled piano player and often filled her home with classical music. Elizabeth will be remembered for her quick wit, sense of humor and her love of chocolate.

 

A private burial service for family members and close friends will be held at Willamette National Cemetery in Happy Valley, Oregon on Thursday, August 19, 2021. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to Mount Angel Abbey in honor of the deceased.
