Obituary of Carol Ann Johnson

CAROL ANN JOHNSON

The love of my life, my wife, has left this world to join her grandparents, father, mother and her many companions/pets.  I met Carol in 1985. Her love and zest for life inspired me and opened my eyes to new experiences.  We decided to get married on January 1, 1990 so it would be an easy anniversary to remember and keep track of how long.  As I think back she probably agreed to that to make sure I never forgot.

Carol was a tour guide for groups going to Las Vegas and knew all the best casinos and buffets to go to.  After that Carol managed apartments, anywhere from 20 to 200 unit buildings and self-storage facilities.  She was awarded the Affordable Housing Management & Association of Washington Manager of the Year in 1998.

Carol loved to explore the countryside wherever she lived – in California, Joshua Tree and the surrounding desert; in Colorado, the Rocky Mountains; and in Washington, the Olympic Peninsula. No matter where we were she loved to watch meteor showers.

Carol created and crocheted numerous afghans, baby outfits and blankets, and stuffed animals, which she always gave away to anyone who needed something to brighten their day or donated to the hospital or charity.

Carol was an amateur gemologist. She gathered an extensive collection of unique seashells over many years. She loved playing gin rummy and spades.

Written with love by Carl, her husband.

Carol is survived by her husband, Carl Johnson, her son, Christopher M. Conley, her brother, Kenneth Hartwig, and several sisters-in-law, brothers-in law, nieces and nephews. Carol left her estate to her two cats, Molly and Maxwell.

Instead of flowers please donate to Carol's favorite charity the ASPCA.

Memorial Service to be on May 17, 2022, time and place to be determined later.
