Obituary of Jill Marvin
Sarah Jinella “Jill” Marvin, 71, passed away on June 28, in Tualatin, Oregon. Jill was born on October 15, 1949 in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Walt and Hazel Knox. She had two sisters, Jane and Joyce. At a young age, Jill’s family moved to Harrisburg, Oregon, for her father’s job with Morse Brothers Prestressed Concrete. The family resided in Harrisburg and Jill attended Harrisburg High School, graduating in 1967.
Following High School and at the age of 18, Jill married Gary Marvin in Reno, Nevada on November 24, 1967. They moved to Eugene, Oregon, and had two children, Michael and Shawn. Jill devoted her time to raising her boys and being involved with their school activities and PTA. She later began her career as an administrator for Green Valley Rehabilitation Health Center, in Eugene, and then as a front office coordinator for Grant’s Hearing Center in Cottage Grove, Oregon. In retirement, Jill moved to Woodburn, Oregon to be closer to her sons.
She attended Valley River Baptist Church, in Eugene, and in recent years, attended Rolling Hills Community Church, in Tualatin, where she enjoyed taking her grandchildren. Throughout life, Jill loved spending time with her family, going on Cruises, camping, and traveling, especially to Hawaii.
Jill is survived by son, Michael (Jodi) Marvin; son, Shawn Marvin; 3 grandchildren, Logan, Eli, and Madeline. She is preceded by her parents; sister, Jane; and sister, Joyce.
Family will be present for her private Entombment at Skyline Memorial Gardens in the Garden Mausoleum. No formal services will be held.
